Abstract:
This study aims to explore the development of a lifelong learning model focused on gender education and equal opportunities. The analysis will be grounded in a case study of the city of Prato, a complex context historically shaped by significant migratory flows, where for over twenty years the anti-violence centre La Nara has been working with all the actors in the area to promote a culture of equality. Thanks to constant awareness-raising efforts has led to the establishment of a robust network that, while rooted in educational initiatives targeting both school staff and students, extends beyond the school environment to mobilize a broader range of stakeholders. Through an in-depth examination of this experience, the study seeks to identify potential development strategies for building genuinely inclusive cities, with a particular emphasis on gender perspectives.
