Abstract
This contribution explores the formative value of video analysis as a reflective and participatory methodology within early childhood education services, with a specific focus on the observation of children's play. Drawing on a field-based training experience, it highlights how the use of video excerpts from real educational contexts enables educators and teachers to enhance key professional competencies such as observing, understanding, and projecting children’s play. These moments are viewed not only as privileged expressions of children's development but also as essential opportunities for fostering inclusive practices. Video analysis thus emerges as a transformative tool for critically and consciously reinterpreting educational practices during children's playtimes, promoting a meaningful connection between pedagogical theory and everyday practices through the creation of spaces for dialogue among education professionals.
