Abstract
This study investigates, from an exploratory perspective, the representations and training needs concerning school-based guidance among a sample of 185 trainee teachers enrolled in the PEF30 qualifying pathway at Roma Tre University. Drawing on a structured questionnaire, the research identifies a persistent gap between participants' value-based endorsement of a model of guidance embedded in disciplinary teaching and their command of the operational tools required to transla-te it into practice. The study's specific contribution lies in situating this gap within the still unde-rexplored context of the new Italian PEF30 pathways and in interpreting it in light of the profes-sional standards set out in Annex A to the D.P.C.M. of 4 August 2023, which frames the qualified teacher's profile as structurally guidance-oriented. The findings nevertheless point to a possible misalignment between perceived training objectives and current professional standards, and iden-tify situated, laboratory-based and reflective learning environments as the most effective context for developing guidance competences among prospective teachers.
