Abstract:
The contribution analyzes the results of the action-research project “Widespread Educational Ecosystem: Innovative and Connective Networks Between School and City” aimed at defining a new model of educational ecosystem where the city itself becomes an extension of the classroom towards the formation of a true distributed educational ecosystem. The main goal of the research was to promote a widespread, inclusive, and intergenerational education through a process of re-signifying the educational territories surrounding schools and the entire city, through careful observation of public spaces, an educational reading of the urban context, and the development of hypotheses for urban micro-design. The central idea is to consider the city as a true educational space, a learning city that learns and transforms together with the people who live in it and interact with it.
