Pedagogical coordinator in the 0-6 education system. Transformational leadership as a tool for continuing professional development


Abstract:

The 0-6 Early Childhood Education and Care Integrated System is experiencing an important cultural change in Italy, requiring a transformation of governance, pedagogical work and practices. In this framework, the Pedagogical Coordinator can play a transformative leadership role becoming an essential element in the evolution of the organizational and cultural zero-six system, fostering continuous professional development and democratic and collective learning. The theoretical and empirical project that is presented here, carried out within Pro.ges Cooperative, investigates the role of the Pedagogical Coordinator, highlighting how this figure might generate a cultural change through a research approach, providing reflections and intellectual support and stimulations of professionals, to whom tools and methodologies are suggested.
