There are many pedagogical research experiences that in recent years have focused on the educational value of Service Learning (SL), opening, heuristic glances to significant experiences in academia. A new line of research on the subject, looks at the intentional design of SL activities mediated by new technologies. This study collects and proposes a synthesis of three systematic reviews that investigate SL online in higher education. The objective is to examine the claims arising from the scientific literature regarding SL, offering a descriptive review with an aggregative purpose, and an interpretive and critical synthesis.
