Literature currently recognizes Universal Design for Learning as one of the most innovative approaches to inclusive education. The effort to translate these principles in music education are though occasional. The Esagramma Center has developed a theoretical and methodological approach to make the orchestra accessible to everybody. In the present paper we analyze Esagramma's practice according to the UDL framework, verifying through its checklist the application of the UDL principles. In the conclusion we create a checklist derived from both UDL principles and Esagramma’s experience that can be used in instrumental didactics and music education, even with students with SEN, carrying on a reflection made for the research Strumento musicale e inclusione nelle SMIM.
