Abstract
In July 2025, a small fleet of over 40 boats, with crews from 44 different countries, set sail from the ports of Barcelona, Genoa, Catania, and Tunisia with the aim of bringing food and medicine to the Palestinian population of Gaza. Although the convoy was boarded by the Israeli army once it reached Gaza, which seized the boats and arrested the crews, the mission represents an extraordinary example of grassroots diplomacy, the result of the spontaneous mobilization of hundreds of thousands of people around the world, carrying a clear message: there can be no peace in the territories without restoring the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people and freeing them from Israeli colonial oppression.
