The IEP in the stories of students at the University: for an authentic educational orientation

Abstract

The piece aims to reflect on the connections between the Individualized Educational Plan and the dimensions of university and professional orientation. The University of Perugia has activated a service of pedagogical-didactic advice, designed to offer support in the acquisition and/ or refinement of the study methodology, in the definition of their path of study in terms of orientation or reorientation, in the reading of specific needs in the direction of the delineation of the Life Plan. Follow a student on an orientation path mean working on one hand on the horizons and aspirations built up during the schooling period, more or less stressed by the IEPS, on the other hand on the ability to learn to choose, in the direction of a more appropriate reading of one’s own existential and/or professional context. In this sense, the ministerial models of IEP and the Interministerial Decree no. 182 of 29-12-2020 could open meaningful perspectives. The intervention aims to report the results of a research path that has made possible to evaluate the agency of the students involved and the role played in this direction by individualized designs in secondary school.
