This paper aims to compare the perceptions of the work objectives achievement among Italian teachers based on the didactic method and professional role (owner / substitute) in the period between February and April 2021. The pandemic imposed school lockdown around the world. In Italy, teaching methods (distance, face-to-face and mixed methods) varied depending on the geographic area and school grade. This research involved 320 teachers from three compulsory school grades which filled out an ad hoc online questionnaire. Findings show that secondary school teachers have worse perceptions of the work objectives achievement than their colleagues from other school grades both in distance teaching and in mixed teaching methods, while in face to face teaching the situation is reversed.
