Abstract:
The Learning City concept highlights the role of local educational and cultural institutions, encouraging them to promote collaborative networks for the implementation of educational policies inspired by the principles of Lifelong Learning and Leave No One Behind. The article explores and comments on the multifaceted dimension of the teaching profession, which is entrusted, by virtue of its status, to foster meaningful connections between formal, non-formal and informal learning in order to promote innovation of the Education and Training System. In particular, through the presentation of the action research project RC efficacy: (Ri)e-ducazione Cultur@le per una Città che apprende, currently underway in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria, it reflects on the principle of active citizenship and on ways to promote learning opportunities based on an intercultural and inclusive perspective.
