Abstract
In the context of the post-digital society, educators working with children aged 0–6 are required to develop advanced design skills to devise multimodal play experiences that integrate analogue and digital languages. This paper presents a training model for the 0–6 age group, which was developed as part of the LabZeroSei project in Milan. This model is based on the concept of media literacy as the critical, creative, and conscious use of media, combined with playful design and the creation of culturally meaningful experiences. The methodology, based on research-education, integrated modular experiential workshops, flipped modalities and collective reflections, to open a discussion on the implications of this approach for education, underscoring the need to move beyond mere digital literacy towards critical and design mastery of multimodal play.
